1. What part of my web site does FlexWindow manage?
You can choose which areas of your web site FlexWindows will manage. Typically flexwindows excel at those areas in your web site where content needs to be changed frequently. You can start with those places where content changes most frequently, and then implement it in other areas of your site, as you like. It will still allow you the freedom to choose any other tools you see fit to design and develop your web site. FlexWindow will work right alongside them.
2. What software do I need to install on my servers and at my company?
There is no need to install, maintain or update any software at your company. FlexWindow completely hosts the application so you don't have to worry about an extra software package. Web developers manage flexwindows through our web site and editors use their e-mail client to make content updates.
3. Does it take long to implement FlexWindow in my web site?
You can set up an account and include your first content window in your web site in
less than ten minutes. Consecutive content windows can be integrated in a few minutes each. It really depends on how many windows you are going to use and if you already have a good idea where to put them. Thinking of which content to replace by flexwindows usually takes up most of the time.
4. Does it support multiple users?
Yes, it does. You can assign separate content editors to different content windows. You can also choose to enable multiple content editors to change a single content window.
5. Is there a way to check content before it is put on my web site?
You can check the content before it is going live. If you wish, you can make sure that each content window needs approval first before it is updated.
6. Who controls the design of the web site?
Web designers and developers keep the initiative over what part of the web site content can be edited by whom. They determine what content is made editable by replacing it by FlexWindow. They also remain in control over which editor has the ability to change it. Thus, web developers control what parts of the web site they do not want to bothered with any longer, and which parts they still want to remain in control over.
7.How do users update content to my web site?
They will use their e-mail client. You provide them with the address and password of
the content window. All the editor has to do next is type his content and send the e-mail.
8. How do users compose their content?
Editors use the formatting capabilities of their e-mail client. In case of MS Outlook for example, they can use word processor like buttons to format their message.
9. What level of knowledge do users have to possess?
FlexWindow is developed with non-technical users in mind. Users that update the web site do not require knowledge of html, nor do they have to know how to use ftp. There is also no need to get acquainted with a software tool.
10. At what host does my content reside?
You can let us host your content or you can have FlexWindow post the content to your own hosting location. The choice is yours.
11. How does content get transferred to my web site?
If you opt to host your own content (which we recommend), it will be transferred by ftp to your hosting location. Each content window can separately be set to do this.
12. How much does it cost?
